DwellStudio + Robert Allen = Modern Color Theory

Share

The latest collaboration, Modern Color Theory,  between Robert Allen and DwellStudio infuses midcentury modern design with global craft. Its playful patterns and bold color palette take cues from abstract art and early modernism. The collection remains true to the signature DwellStudio style, featuring oversized geometrics (Coco); conversational animal motifs (Caravan and Kings Walk); and whimsical stripes (High Wire). Lemieux’s stylistic eye brings a new spin that is timelessly chic, but still uses trends relevant in today’s interiors, fashion, and art for a modern edge.

UPDATE:  After I posted this today, I did my daily check of my favorite Flash sites and low and behold… One Kings Lane has pillows in the Modern Color Theory fabrics ( Saying to myself- WOW that was quick!) . Love the fabric- don’t have a place for it? Satisfy your craving with a pillow or 2.

Modern Color Theory draws on an arts and crafts feel taken from early abstract art, with an emphasis on intentional imperfection. Geometric lines appear to have an almost hand-drawn quality.

Kings Walk is a modern conversation piece, a playful lion damask pattern that shows pure primary colors mixed with softer earth tones

Malakos is inspired by Malachite, a semi-precious gemstone recognizable for its distinct coloring, alternating bands of light and dark. This design is a chic statement piece that packs a punch

Illusion Weave

Ludlow- Citrine

This collection has a new color story and new patterns. The colors are full of attitude in richly saturated shades such as Malachite, a lush full green; Citrine, a shockingly chic bright yellow often paired with a sophisticated gray; and Ultramarine, a deep hue of ocean blue.
