#13 Window Fashion Fabulosity -Window Fashions are pretty again!
Kelee Katillac of Kelee Katillac Interior Design in Kansas City and architectural interior designer Steve Heiffus, her husband and partner, created their “drawing room” by fusing the living room and sunroom. It’s an eye-catching mix of stunning soft furnishings in peaceful blues and happy yellows, lustrous silks and nubby linens.
A woman after my own heart, Katillac believes that ” Your home should fit you like a couture gown or tailored suit. It should celebrate your life and express your style.” She certainly accomplished that with the ballgown panels and custom shutters in this room. I am celebrating all the details at the windows . From the gingham check upholstered café shutter with rubbed finish and cameo details that functions too! to the skirted, buttoned and banded cushions and of course, the drapery panels framing the shutters and sweeping the floor like couture gowns.
Notice the that the detailed shutters are centered at each window, using a simple check shutter on either side to span the width.
Katillac Couture’s Jane shutters, with neoclassical French cameos, “bracelet the room and accessorize the ballgown curtains,” she says.
Window Fashion: Silk panels with inverted box pleats are hung from gold square rods accented by birds perched across the rod. Pretty bows finish the heading and hide the stitching.
