Looking through my emails this week it seems color is on everyone’s mind. Pantone just launched 2015 their home color trends , my newsletter from Kate at Sensational Color just landed in my inbox, along with my daily dose from Design Seeds; so it seems appropriate that today’s fabulous Window Fashion speaks to color. This room by Jeffery Bilhuber is on point. First, there is no rule that you have to match the trim color to your blinds or shades. A recent survey I did shows that the number 1 reason someone buys treatments is color, followed by aesthetics, fabrics, desire to decorate and price. With our clients becoming enamored with color; now is the time to start thinking outside of the crayon box and sell interesting and dynamic schemes.
Here the black lacquered shutters against the white paneling create a dramatic contrast. I also love that he also didn’t do the expected by putting shutters on the doors, but instead softened the room with a fun blue and white paisley hung from black iron French Poles.
It looks like the tight install above the door called for a smaller diameter rod without a center support. Euro pleats set the fullness at the bottom of the ring. The tape from the slipper chair cushions gets repeated on the leading edge. Quick Tip: switch up the rings on a pole for a different look. Smaller diameter rings moves the panel snug to the rod; larger rings showcase the pole and its finish.
