If you are a detail devotee, this book is for you. Jane Scott Hodges, founder of Leontine Linens explores the rich tradition and technique of decorative embellishments on soft furnishings.
Printed Textiles: British and American Cottons and Linens 1700-1850 by Linda Eaton
Eaton, senior Curator of Textiles at Winterthur, has updated this classic with a focus on furnishing fabrics (known as furnitures.) This is a particularly thorough study into the origins, designs, patterns and colors that make up printed textiles.
Indigo by Catherine LeGrand
The story of Indigo and its place in the world of textiles past and present.
The French Ribbon
This book has 600+ photographs of swatch books and ad leaflets that were taken when a century old factory closed in France. It can be an amazing source of design and ornamentation ideas.

Elsie de Wolfe: Frivolity before the Storm
This book gives us a peek into Wolfe’s legendary parties. Designers second career could be event planning… BTW- Villa Trianon, Elsie’s French chateau near Versailles is being restored as a tribute to her career. Hell yes…after all she is the Mother of American Interiors Design and almost singlehandedly dragged us out of decorating crazy town called the Victorian era.
